What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only form of permanent hair removal approved by the FDA. The practitioner will insert a thin probe alongside the unwanted hair and deliver a small amount of electricity in order  to kill the hair follicle preventing future growth. Electrolysis has been safely used for over 135years and can treat any hair color, skin color and around the eyes.

What causes unwanted hair growth?

There are many factors to be considered causing unwanted hair growth, which in combination may pose a problem. Contributing factors include heredity/genetics, hormone imbalance, stress, other temporary hair removal methods (ex-tweezing,waxing,threading), normal life changes (ex-puberty, pregnancy, menopause), some medications including birth control, and underlying medical conditions.

What will it feel like?

Most clients find weekly treatments most effective in the beginning. Each session treats the visible hairs, as new hairs emerge from below the skins surface with each week. The life of the hair follicle from germinative cell to mature follicle is months long. This cycling continues throughout the year with varying spurts. As client gets closer to completion goals appointments will space out and shorten in length of time. It is impossible to give an exact time because texture, density, stress levels, habits of temporary removal methods and medications. varies greatly from person to person. The success of treatment is based on personal commitment and overall health.
